The goal of the SignTyp project was to perform a comparative, typological study of the phonological structure of signs in a set of different sign languages in terms of their ‘building blocks’ (handshapes, location, movements etc.). To this end approximately 4,350 videos have been provided with a detailed phonological transcriptions. A file with these transcriptions is available on request.
